01 — Who we are

Dallas OEM with a deep bench behind it.

Finch is an original equipment manufacturer of medium-voltage metal-clad switchgear and low-voltage switchboards, and an integrator of complete medium- and low-voltage power packages. Finch Equipment Corporation is headquartered in Dallas; Finch Canada, based in Calgary, is our engineering and manufacturing company. Together we serve clients across the United States and Canada.

We are led by a team with a long track record in medium-voltage engineering and build. We work with a select client base and focus on repeatable, custom-engineered work for owners, contractors and engineers who value quality, schedule certainty and a direct relationship with the people building their equipment. We build for a select few long-term partners, and our business is almost 100 percent referral.

Helping clients scale in a challenging market is the core of what we do. We specialize in standing up long-term, repeatable programs, the kind the leading data center and generator companies have come to rely on to hold their delivery dates year after year.

Track record
01

Tens of millions delivered within months

Our manufacturing operation executed tens of millions of dollars in switchgear within months of launch, and our scope keeps growing with repeat clients in the United States.

02

Leading data center programs

We are executing on some of the top data center projects in the country, where high-count, repeatable delivery and held dates decide the outcome.

03

Utility-grade discipline

Our team has built to the standards of some of the most conservative utilities in North America, where engineering review and acceptance leave no room for shortcuts.

04

Oil and gas heritage

Our roots are in Canadian oil and gas, with switchgear delivered for majors and midstream operators in demanding field environments, then Texas, and now clients across the United States.

What we do differently

The work the majors deprioritize, done repeatably.

Our ethos is long-term partnership. We stand up repeatable programs, with identical lineups, dedicated build capacity and held dates, that the leading data center and generator companies rely on as they scale.

The hard stuff, done repeatably

We take on the engineered, custom and program-scale work most large manufacturers aren't set up to do, from 7000 A and 63 kA generator lineups to 38 kV collector gear, and stay accountable for it from takeoff through factory acceptance test.

Platform chosen by project goals

We qualify more than one breaker platform and select, or combine, platforms to fit each project's certification basis, duty, schedule, footprint and budget.

Schedule and capacity

Scalable steel fabrication, copper bus and assembly labor let us run parallel build cycles and hold dates on multi-unit programs. Phased and partial deliveries are standard practice.

Single point of accountability

One partner for the medium-voltage lineup, transformer and 480 V distribution, engineered to coordinate and delivered as a package.

02 — Heritage and footprint

Started in Canadian oil and gas. Built for North America.

Finch is built on a deep bench. Our founders have led three switchgear manufacturers: two were sold to strategic buyers and the third went public. Those proven designs, methods and teams are the foundation Finch is built on.

Our heritage started in Canadian oil and gas, building switchgear for demanding field environments. That work quickly expanded to clients in Texas, and today we deliver for data center, power generation and utility clients across the United States and Canada.

Finch Equipment Corporation, headquartered in Dallas, leads sales, project management and customer support. Finch Canada is our engineering and manufacturing company: design engineering is based in Calgary, alongside the fabrication and assembly base behind our scale and cycle times. A new manufacturing facility in Calgary is coming soon, and our Dallas site handles final assembly and customer FAT testing on a per-project basis. In early 2027 we forecast expanding it into our first U.S. manufacturing location, adding capacity close to our U.S. programs.

03 — Our people

Builders, installers, engineers, and former buyers.

Our team is split evenly between manufacturing know-how and hands-on field experience installing the gear, backed by deep engineering and design expertise. Many of us sat on the buyer's side of the table at the largest power companies in the country.

Engineering and design

Licensed professional engineers with nearly two decades in power distribution, protection, and instrumentation and controls for oil sands, pipeline and utility facilities, starting in utility distribution engineering. Every lineup is designed, drawn and submitted in-house.

Manufacturing

Leaders trained on the Westinghouse shop floor who have run switchgear plants from single lineups to full production, across design, assembly and factory test.

In the field

Red Seal journeyman electricians and field engineers, including years in Eaton's engineering services group designing and installing power distribution retrofits on live sites. We know how the gear has to arrive, set and energize, because we have done it.

Development through COD

Our leadership has developed, financed and operated power projects for the largest power companies in the country. We have been the buyer, so we understand the rigor it takes to carry a project from development to commercial operation.

North American supply position

USMCA-qualifying product

Finished switchgear and switchboards assembled by Finch Canada qualify as North American origin and enter the United States duty-free under USMCA.

No-China sourcing on request

Where an owner excludes Chinese-origin equipment, we source breakers, transformers and components from North American, Korean and other allied-country suppliers, with component-level origin certification per unit.

Materials and listings

Steel and copper come from North American mills. Breaker platforms carry U.S. or Canadian listings appropriate to the destination.

04 — Built heavier

Quality in every lineup.

How a lineup is built determines how it performs over thirty years. These are standard on every Finch-built lineup.

Long indoor metal-clad lineup with protective relays and metering on the shop floor
Indoor metal-clad lineup — relaying, metering and controls wired in-house
Outdoor switchgear enclosure with drip-hood roof and integrated HVAC on a galvanized structural steel skid
Outdoor enclosure, galvanized skid, integrated HVAC
100%

Fully seam-welded

No spot welding. Cells stay square and rigid through shipping, rigging and setting, and tolerate uneven pads.

+30%

Oversized bus

Main and riser bus sized about 30 percent above rating, running cooler with margin for load growth.

+15%

Extra clearance, insulated conductors

Conductor spacing about 15 percent beyond required minimums, with insulated conductors as standard, not an upgrade.

Cu

In-house copper processing

We control the quality of every joint and the schedule of every bus package.

2005

Arc-resistant outdoor heritage. Our outdoor arc-resistant design draws on a lineage dating to 2005: arc-diverting outdoor construction, closed-loop cooling and three-stage filtration for dusty and high-heat sites.

05 — Platforms

Chosen by project goals, not by habit.

Finch is not tied to a single breaker manufacturer. Eaton and HD Hyundai Electric are our two qualified platforms. On many programs the right answer is a combination, grouped by function in dedicated sections of the lineup. Either way, the structure, bus, wiring, relaying and testing are Finch.

07 — Finch Speed-to-Power

Generation, transformers and switchgear. One package, one schedule.

When traditional supply chains can't support a project's date, we package bankable generation, from engines and turbines to lower-emission linear generators and fuel cells, with our medium- and low-voltage switchgear and transformer skids, integrated at a Finch facility or with one of our large generation partners in the United States or Canada.

Price

One scope, one margin

Buying generation, transformation and distribution as one integrated package removes stacked markups and duplicated interfaces between vendors.

Logistics

Skidded, pre-wired, shipped together

Equipment is coordinated, skid-mounted and tested together, so it arrives as fewer, larger pieces with fewer trades and terminations on site.

09 — How we work

Open doors. Built around your program.

Finch is a new brand built by an established team, and that is the point. Too many buyers today are treated as an order number, with slow answers and lead times that keep slipping. We give every program a team that knows it by name, straight answers and a build schedule we hold. Behind that are decades of experience in infrastructure, manufacturing and the electrical industry, and a level of transparency most buyers are not used to from an equipment supplier.

Facility visits welcome

Before award, during build and at test. Walk the floor, meet the people building your equipment, and see the work for yourself.

Custom operations for large programs

Dedicated build lines, staging and marshaling yards, and reporting cadences set up to mirror your execution process and installation sequence.

Straight answers

Clear status reporting, early notice of any risk to a date, and direct access to the people making decisions.
